Agenda

남서울미술관은 서울시립미술관 중 가장 유동 인구가 많은 입지에도 불구하고 가장 적은 방문자 수를 보유하고 있다. 한편 대상지 인근의 남현동 예술인 마을에는 과거 수많은 예술가가 거주하였지만 이제 소수 예술가만이 활동하고 있다.

남서울미술관에 예술과 함께 즐길 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 제공하고 예술인 마을을 활성화하여 남서울 예술 커뮤니티를 만들고자 한다.

Despite its location in one of the busiest areas, the Nam-Seoul Museum of Art(SEMA) has the lowest number of visitors among the Seoul Museum of Art branches. Meanwhile, in the nearby Namhyeon-dong artist village, numerous artists resided in the past, but now only a few artists are performing.

The goal is to create an art community in south Seoul by providing various programs to enjoy art at SEMA and revitalizing SSAV(South Seoul Artist Village).

Design

1. 기존 건물의 일부 철거 | Partial Demolition of the Existing Building

주 진입 방향에서의 시야를 가리고 있는 기존 건물을 일부 철거하고 골조만 유지하였다.

Demolish part of the existing building blocking the view from the main access and keep only the frame.

2. 도로와 분리된 선큰 가든 | Sunken garden Separated from the Road

매스로 도로의 소음을 막아 조용한 정원을 만들면서도 도로 방향에서 미술관이 가려지지 않도록 선큰 가든으로 조성하였다.

A mass was used to block the noise from the road, creating a quiet garden, while ensuring the museum remained visible from the road direction by designing it as a sunken garden.
